Celebrating Pubs & Growing Our Team
It has been a busy few weeks for the Stockcheck team, with plenty happening across the hospitality industry and some great opportunities to get involved with the pubs and businesses we work with.
Judging for the Thwaites Hospitality Awards
We were delighted to be involved in the judging process for the prestigious Thwaites Hospitality Awards, with Stockcheck getting the opportunity to visit and judge pubs for the Community Award.
The awards recognise the hard work, dedication and contribution of Thwaites’ pubs and their teams, with community involvement being an important part of what makes a great local pub. Judging gave us the chance to get out and about, meet some of the people behind these businesses and see first hand the work they are doing within their local communities. With the awards taking place early next year, we will be looking forward to seeing the eventual winners announced.
Celebrating the Great British Pub Industry
We also recently attended the Great British Pub Awards in Leeds, joining people from across the hospitality industry to celebrate some of the country’s outstanding pubs.
Held at the First Direct Arena, the awards recognised pubs across a wide range of categories, from Best Pub for Beer and Best Community Pub to Best Pub Garden, Best Pub for Sport and Best Inn.
The overall Great British Pub of the Year was awarded to The Tamworth Tap, which also won Best Pub for Beer. Other major winners included The Plough at Prestbury, which took Best Pub for Families, and The Lion Malpas, which won the new Best Inn category.
For us, events like these are a great opportunity to celebrate the hospitality industry, meet some of the people behind the businesses we work with and recognise just how much goes into running a successful pub.
Growing Our Team in Cumbria
Behind the scenes, we have also been busy expanding our team, with a new member currently undergoing training to expand our services in the Cumbria region.
With a strong background and extensive knowledge of the hospitality industry, they will bring valuable experience that will complement our existing stocktaking team. Training is now underway, covering our stocktaking processes, systems and the wider role of a stocktaker.
We will be sharing more details about our new team member and their experience very soon.
Connecting with the North East Hospitality Industry
We were also pleased to have been involved in the first North East Hospitality Showcase event, bringing together hospitality businesses, suppliers and industry professionals for a day of networking and sharing ideas in Newcastle.
Hosted at The Maldron Hotel and organised by Octo-POS and the ICR Touch partners, the event provided a great opportunity to further extend our contacts across the hospitality sector and showcase our services to the industry. It was also great to see the event supporting a fantastic cause, with £1,100 raised for Leukaemia Care, with further donations still to come.
We very much look forward to attending these events in the future.
Looking Ahead
From judging some of the country’s leading pub awards to meeting hospitality operators and continuing to grow our nationwide team, it’s been a great few weeks for Stockcheck.
Our work gives us the opportunity to visit hundreds of hospitality businesses every month, and we are proud to play a small part in supporting the pubs, bars, hotels and other hospitality businesses that keep the industry moving.
Now we are looking ahead for a successful Christmas period with plenty of hospitality activity on the horizon.
And on that note, it’s also never too early to get your year end stocktake booked in. If you are looking to start the New Year with a clear picture of your stock position and performance, get in touch with the Stockcheck team to arrange your stocktake – CONTACT US
